Cardiff Here We Come

By: Daryl | Comments No Comments

Not so long ago, an FA Cup trip to Cardiff meant you’d made the final and you’d be playing at the Millenium Stadium. But now they’ve finally finished Wembley a trip to Cardiff means Cardiff City and Ninian Park in the Fifth Round. More importantly, it means facing former manager Dave Jones (pictured with Sir [...]

I May Have Ruined Wolves Season

By: Daryl | Comments 3 Comments

There was an apology for the short hiatus in the last post. But that was about three weeks ago. So now I have to apologize for the long hiatus. I’ve been busily blogging away covering the Africa Cup of Nations and have sadly neglected the Molineux men.
And in my absence, it’s all gone wrong. [...]

Wolves Win! No, Really

By: Daryl | Comments No Comments

Apologies for the short hiatus. Have been mesmerized by the Africa Cup of Nations (speaking of which, I watched Olifinjana play in illustrious company for Nigeria in their 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire, and let’s just say he looks well suited to the Coca-Cola Championship!) But while my back was turned Wolves only went and [...]

Wolves 0-3 Crystal Palace, Fans Forced to Entertain Themselves

By: Daryl | Comments 2 Comments

Despite fielding £1.5million worth of new striker in Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Wolves were demolished 3-0 at home to Crystal Palace. That’s now eight games without a league win and just 24 goals in the last 27 games. Obviously the Molineux faithful are not happy.
But at least the South Bank (biggest most vocal section of the ground) [...]

Worse than giving away the penalty in fact, because at least the handball was a [...]

Wolves 2-1 Cambridge Utd (Or, How it Was Finally Confirmed Beyond Doubt That Wolves are a One Man Team)

By: Daryl | Comments 1 Comment

Wolves narrowly escaped the wrong end of an FA Cup giant-killing against Cambridge United yesterday. Cambridge used to be a league team (anyone else remember John Taylor, Dion Dublin, Steve Claridge and John Beck’s insistence that a long ball was the only ball worth playing?) but now dwell in the professional but still technically non-league [...]

Mick McCarthy DOES Know What He’s Doing, Sort of

By: Daryl | Comments No Comments

Wolves recent run of form (seven games without a win) has seen Molineux turn on Mick McCarthy, with chants of “You don’t know what you’re doing” being heard during the 0-0 draw with Sheffield United. On one hand I share the frustration. If we can’t beat a team managed by Bryan Robson at home then [...]

Wolves in a Nutshell

By: Daryl | Comments 5 Comments

Hi there, I’m Daryl. I’ve been merrily blogging away here on The Offside (and over at World Cup Blog) for what feels like forever now, and they’ve finally rewarded my loyalty with a Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. blog, so I can vent about my first, foremost and most frustrating footballing love.
If you’ve never heard of [...]
