Writer Wanted for Wolves Offside

By: Matt | October 25th, 2008

Hi everyone. Apologies for the long absence. I’ve been out of action for a while due to a close family bereavement, and due to this I’ve been out of the country and won’t be returning for a short while. As a result my posts have ground to a halt as football took second place in my life. Well I guess there has to be a first time for everything.

Anyhow, I won’t be able to continue writing the Wolves Blog for the foreseeable future, so if there are any budding writers out there please contact Daryl Grove at The Offside (daryl [at] theoffside.com) or find out some more information here.

Since I’ve stopped writing Wolves fortunes seem to have gone down hill a little (not that I’m superstitious). The Reading game and the injuries suffered in that defeat seemed to knock the stuffing out of the team and confidence seems to have nosedived. We’ve gone from playing confident attacking football to capitulating under pressure and playing a nervous, disjointed game. As I haven’t seen us playing since the Bristol City game I’m only going on what my fellow fans have told me.

Its seems like the suspension of Iwelumo really effect our results and we don’t seem to have recovered our confidence since his return. That, along with the injury to Jarvis, has done the most damage. It seems like Carlos Edwards is no longer the winged wonder he once was, his performances for Wolves being very unimpressive so far. Let’s just hope it’s a case of recovering his fitness.

Anyway, I’m waffling. Please contact Daryl if you’d like to write for the blog. Let’s hope Wolves recover soon and have a return to form, starting at Watford today. I still expect to see us in the top 4 come the end of season, possibly the top 2. Always Wolves, forever.

Sorry to hear of your misfortunes. Reading your Wolves reports and blogs has been a genuine fixture in my internet surfing, and its been a pleasure to read the writings of someone who follows this league and his team with such passion and dedication. Thanks for all the info you have provided me with on Wolves players past and present who have made the move to Cardiff too: They were helpful, interesting and insightful. All the best in the future.

Matt – sorry to hear your news, you’ve been a great writer for the site. There’s now definitely a gaping hole in the Wolves blogosphere for someone who can string words together properly and provide some rational, insightful and well-thought out articles on the Wolves.

All the very best, and I hope you’re able to return to writing at some point.
