Wolves Win! No, Really

By: Daryl | January 24th, 2008

Apologies for the short hiatus. Have been mesmerized by the Africa Cup of Nations (speaking of which, I watched Olifinjana play in illustrious company for Nigeria in their 1-0 loss to Cote d’Ivoire, and let’s just say he looks well suited to the Coca-Cola Championship!) But while my back was turned Wolves only went and won. No, really. After eight games without a win they went away to Scunthorpe and won 2-0.

Not only that, but new signings Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Dave Edwards both scored. Seems Andy Keogh (who apparently got a standing ovation from Scunthorpe fans, who still remember him fondly) formed a nice partnership with Ebanks-Blake. Bad news for Freddy Eastwood, but it’s been a while since we had a Steve Bull-Andy Mutch style pairing up front that you could really rely on.

Next up for Wolves is a difficult away trip to Watford in the FA Cup Fourth Round. A few Premier League clubs are apparently keen on Marlon King, so let’s hope someone signs him up before Saturday.
