Wolves Sign Carlos Edwards on Loan

By: Matt | October 2nd, 2008

Wolves today completed the 3 month loan signing of Carlos Edwards from Sunderland. An influential player in Sunderland’s promotion season, following 2 major injuries, Edwards is now fully fit. On the surface this seems like a great move by McCarthy, who is continuing Wolves remarkable recent history of signing Sunderland players (which started well before McCarthy arrived). Whether he can capture his pre-injury form remains to be seen. The Sunderland fans I have talked to, think Edwards is a shadow of the player he was and is now playing with “fear”. Afraid to put his foot in at the risk of another injury, although many believe he will be very effective at Championship level.

In other news today, well done Chris Iwelumo, who was today called up for Scotland by George Burley and is included in the squad to play Norway in a World Cup qualifier.
