Wolves 1 – 1 Barnsley – Champions then is it?

By: Toby | April 25th, 2009

It’ll be a short one for me because I’m a very poorly boy. I’ve dragged myself to the computer here, but if there’s ever a good reason to jepordise my long term health then it’s Wolves being crowned Champions. Ironic that we win the Championship of the Championship on a day when we were pretty dire, but the result still stands and we are not only a Premier League side but Champions to boot. Sandwell better polish that trophy, we’re on our way round for it!

Indeed the blue birmingham bottlers. Still rather have them than Sheff United in the Prem, you don’t want another Stoke, though to be fair they wouldn’t get away with half the shit they do in our league every week in the Championship, Morgan elbowing a hole into Humes head for one. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/championship/barnsley/3520415/Chris-Morgan-escapes-punishment-over-Iain-Hume-injury-Football.html

yea dont get me wrong i HATE chris morgan as much as the next man and i think its a travisty he wasnt jailed or suspended or anything for tht assult on hulme, and i really hate the way sheff utd play too (more like rugby than football) but over the last few months i have come to hate blues and their loudmouth fans far more than i ever thought i could, especially when they were congaing against us (i didnt see any congas after the preston game- starnge?) so i really hope they dont go up.

Although technically reading can still go up who i dont mind so im praying for a reading win on monday and against blues then that neil “sheffield united till i die” warnock doesnt field a side with an average age of 12 against sheff utd (yea like thatll happen)but failing that ill take sheff utd over blues…….just.

Does this mean we should refer to them as ‘bluebottles’ and not ‘bluenoses’ lol, though it’s not over til it’s over. Based purely on Mr T. Francis’s comments at the 2-0 debacle (looked like Bully wanted to slap him aswell) and for Big Chris’s sake, as he was robbed of any ‘on pitch’ involvement, I hope Reading and Blades both turn up at the respective end of season games.
What a feeling to be going up as CHAMPIONS and not be sweating on who we face in the play off’s-phew!

Call me sentimental, but — given that the Doncaster game is completely irrelevant for either promotion or relegation battles — I think it would be great if MM gave a game to all those players who’ve been on the squad but never pulled on a first-team shirt. Many of them will presumably have to move on in the summer, and I think it would be a wonderful gesture to let them be part of this season. The same goes for Higgs, who came on loan to give us cover for Hennessey, and has just had to warm the bench game in and game out. Let him have some of the match experience he was obviously hoping for.

It’d be nice to see a couple of the younger kids get a shot, because next year they’re even less likely to get a shot at the first team.

Higgs hit the bar in the cross bar challenge. That’s worth a game in my book, mm will put out a reasonable team though as he’s been pushing the ‘we’ll keep trying till the end of the season’ mantra since qpr!
