Wolves 1 – 0 Q.P.R – Wolves back into the Premiership!
By: Toby | April 18th, 2009
WE’RE UP I TELLS YA!
There you go Mike, I finally said it. What a day to be a Wolves fan eh? What a day! We had it all, posts and bars were hit, players came back from injury, last minute drama and a pitch invasion. All that matters today is that Wolves are now a Premiership side, we have played some of the best football at this club in years and it’s been rewarded by Promotion to the Premiership with two games to go, I remember as a kid growing up always wishing that my team would be one of those which stormed the league and were promoted before the end of the season and now Wolves are that team and it really hasn’t sunk in.
To think that next season we’ll be playing the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United is almost too much to take in at the moment.
As for the game, my, the game well it was as tense as you could possibly imagine, with both Wolves and QPR hitting the woodwork. The first half went by with plenty of chances, but vitally without any of them being converted. Molineux became a stadium so rammed with hope and desperation each kick was to be followed with such close analysis that it close to becoming an impossible environment for football. Luckily for the fans Ebanks decided to relieve the faithful on the 46th minute after good work from a typically industrious Andy Keogh gave the leading goalscorer with perhaps his easiest strike of the season to send the faithful into rapture, around the world the goal was felt and the sigh of relief was heard.
As you may well understand this is so fresh for me that I can’t quite put it all into words, I may write another article later to fill in the massive gaps I’ve left, but for now, we’re up, we’re back where we belong and I am in an utter dreamland.
Sorry for this post, I’ll do something far more journalistic tomorrow!
AHHHHH! WE’RE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tarra-a-bit!

Well done on multiple counts!

Hearty metaphorical back-slaps and cheap Spar champagne! An inevitability for most of the season to those of us non-Wolves followers, but only the reality of the achievement matters to you fans and glad to see you get it at last. Taking West Brom’s place too must be extra sweet! Maybe we’ll join you. Maybe. If not, Ledley for £7m to you, so say the toilet papers in Fleet Street. You’ll need a lot more than Joe ‘deadly when he fancies it’ Ledley, but you do have a few players who may acquit themselves well in the world’s greatest super amazing league.

It’s going to be one hell of a task I must say, but that’s a long way away for now, thanks for the back slaps! To be honest like I was saying in the livecast I hope you come up with us, and a lot of Wolves fans on there agreed with me.

The best bit is that were up two weeks before the season end, so we must make the most of our extra leadtime to plan targets for next season. The real hard work starts now (or at least in the morning) lol
Looking forward to looting one or two of Boro’s finest plus whoever else we can entice !!

Personally hoping Newcastle go down too, eying a few of their players already.
