Match Preview – Wolves Vs North Queensland Fury
By: Toby | July 13th, 2009
So, fresh off the back of our win against Perth Glory, up next are North Queensland Fury. What spectacular names these teams have, it reminds me of that Budweiser advertising campaign, it makes me wonder, if Wolves played in the Australian league what our name would be, Wolverhampton Wackers? Wolverhampton Wonder Wolves? Who knows. Unfortunately for North Queensland Fury, despite their fantastic name they’ll forever be known as “Robbie Fowler’s North Queensland Fury by the British Media from now on, as he’s joined Fury for their upcoming season (obviously wanting to expand his property portfolio).
And it looks as if this friendly has been ear marked for the Premiership’s fourth highest scorers debut, so that’ll probably mean that he won’t play. Someone who definitely won’t play is Big Chris, who’s now rather glumly keeping his chin up in the hope that he’ll be fit in time to play some games before Christmas.
What to expect? More of the same, two sides, one a half, it’s more of a run out than a game though if we were to get anything out of the game it’d be nice to see Doyle and Ebanks playing together.
So there we are! Sorry it’s a bit early, I know we don’t play till Wednesday, but I’m spending tomorrow chasing up the council/paying gas bills/going to see Harry Potter at the Imax…the wonders of working there eh?
Tarra-a-bit!

Brilliant stuff, “if I can’t stay in football I’d like to run a pub”
And his dislikes of “bad refs and losing” hasn’t changed much!
Nice find!

Wolves are after Kat Knight. Any good. I’ve heard he is not very good.

He’s tall…that’s about all he’s got going for him.
