Lord England – Ian of the Wolves
By: Matt | September 15th, 2008A lot of American’s seem to read, or write articles for The Offside. Can any of you explain this to me? I kind of like him. However, please stop confusing England and Great Britain. Either use the Union Jack and refer to Britain, or the Cross of St. George and refer to England. What do you mean, you don’t know what I’m talking about?

Point taken. Clever clogs. I really should stop throwing stones from my glass house.

Excellent point. England has a flag (like Scotland, Wales and NI) – use it. The British flag is appropriate for British teams, as in the Olympics (maybe), but certainly not for any of the home nations national teams, and brings up all of our fears about losing our home nation sides.

while not the intent (I believe) of the original post, I’d just be happy to see more English / home nations players in the Premier League. 35% (roughly) is far too low to my liking
