I May Have Ruined Wolves Season
By: Daryl | February 12th, 2008
There was an apology for the short hiatus in the last post. But that was about three weeks ago. So now I have to apologize for the long hiatus. I’ve been busily blogging away covering the Africa Cup of Nations and have sadly neglected the Molineux men.
And in my absence, it’s all gone wrong. Wolves haven’t won since Ebanks-Blake scored in the last minute to beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. I watched Wolves lose 3-0 to Watford on TV (via the magic of Slingbox) despite dominating the first half and then curled my lip in disgust when I heard we lost 4-2 to Stoke. At home. And I’m more than a little frustrated to hear of tonight’s 0-0 draw with Blackpool.
I know it’s not all my fault. Some of it’s probably the players fault. And some of it has to be Mick McCarthy’s fault. But I’m fairly certain most of it is actually down to my dad. He hadn’t been to see a game since Molineux was rebuilt, but finally returned for the Sheffield Wednesday game. No one can resist free tickets right? His general impression was that the stadium is all very nice but there is way too much swearing at modern football grounds. Also, what happened to all the flatcaps? He didn’t really say that last bit. But Wolves won 2-1 and he was happy.
Only problem is they haven’t won since.

You really shouldn’t take on all this blame, when a clear look at the facts leaves no question that it’s your father’s fault.

Agreed. But how do we fix it? Should I talk him into going back for another game, or persuade him to stay away from Molineux for the good of the team? Don’t want to make things any worse than they already are.

You’re stuffed, matey. This is God’s revenge for stealing Ebanks-Blake off us. Just (to quote Jed Bartlett) sit there in your wrongness and be wrong.
