Wolves “News”
By: Toby | December 17th, 2008Pre transfer window is a difficult time for most Football journalists, as the hectic January sales have yet to start, they have to ham fistedly latch onto any slice of transfer gossip they hear down the pub, or just start reporting on the most boring and dull happenings. Express and Star really excel at this, as you will see in my round up paragraph below, out of 7 articles from The Express and Star, only one is actually interesting…and it’s not actually that interesting.
Right so here we go, deep breath, Wolves round up in a paragraph.
Right, first off we learn that Wolves are a better side than they were last season. You’d think this bomb shell would be enough for Mick to rest easy, however he still lives in fear of teams outside the top three…obviously, because he’s not utterly naive, however the E&S word it as “Boss fears the outsiders”, like he’s some massive xenophobe. Good news comes in the way of Jarvis being fit, however in good old E&S style this is worded as him being ready to “gatecrash Wolves” like some sort of crazed wingery ram raid presumably. In terms of transfers Wolves, as well as half the teams in the bottom half of the Premiership and the top of the Championship are interested in Scott Sinclair, while Ikeme signs on till 2012, and McCarthy doesn’t want to sell anyone, probably because he thinks every last one of his first XI is so flipping ace. Apart from the B team, if I were them I wouldn’t spend too much this Christmas.
Brilliant, I’ve highlighted the important bit of actual news in between all that faff, pre match report….Friday…ish? I might slip from being totally on the nose in the next two weeks, as not only is it Christmas which involves a lot of travelling, but I’m currently in the midst of a busy University period, that and bankruptcy. Seriously guys, I’m down to my last twenty quid of grand overdraft. If any of you want to post me a tenner for Christmas I’d be loving it more than Kevin Keegan.
Tarra-a-bit!

If you tell me what the score will be on Saturday and you’re right, I will give you £10

Oooo, well, I’ll go for a 2-0 to Wolves! Though to be fair, given Donnie’s extremely tight home record I’m being hopefull!

It’s maxed! Hah, we’ve got a Christmas party tonight, and my boss is paying for my drinks all night apparently, I think he might be planning an unwanted advance upon my person.

I have a couple of pounds on that… and £10 of the winnings are yours if it’s 2-0. If it isn’t you’re going to have to live with my slight contempt over Christmas

Ah loans come through on the 5th….should be slightly less desperate then. I did however have to borrow 50 quid off my manager the other week just to get home for Christmas, I put it down to the economy. And my cat.
Thanks for the kind words! Spread the word in Aus! I’ve got family in Queensland, where abouts are you from?
