Wolves January Transfers #2 – Mancienne Recalled, Gow a possibility?
By: Toby | January 2nd, 2009
The news no one wanted to hear as Mancienne is recalled by Chelsea. With the London side in the first stages of selling most of it’s defense, they’re going to need him. We all knew it was coming, perhaps not this soon though. He’s been fantastic over his eight games, and I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing him all the best for the future, and I’m sure it won’t be long till we see him as a regular at the highest level.
On a slightly lighter note, Wolves are interested in Gow, he’s a sort of attacking left sided midfielder/strikery sort of player, and has been very good while on loan with Blackpool, but as they lost Simon Grayson to Leeds, they’ve also lost their minds as they’ve turned down the option to sign him for £200,000.
Not the best start to the transfer window, but here’s hoping Mick can address the loss of Mancienne as quickly as he sorted out his arrival.

If Chelsea crash out tomorrow I think he might be returning. It looks to be a way of avoiding cup-tying him I think. Though I guess there could be a clause to day no cup games. Hmm, I’m being too optimistic!
Best of luck Mancienne, only 10 games for use but will be remembered more than some many game players (hello Jay Bothroyd, Freddie….)

Indeed, he’s done more in a couple of months than some players have done in their entire Wolves’ stints….Denes Rosa…

Does no one else think the Alan Gow signing feels a bit unnecessary? Hope I’m proved wrong, and hope we sign someone to replace Mancienne too.

I’m in two minds myself, I’m not sure about it either, though saying that, I’ve not been too sure about any of the signings we’ve made for the last two years, and I’m constantly suprised.
